CLEVELAND: Corey Kluber took yet another bid for a no-hitter deep into a game and the Indians’ offense again fired on all cylinders in an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field on Sunday afternoon.
Kluber (7-12) was as strong as he’s been all season, throwing a complete game and allowing one run on three hits to go with 10 strikeouts. He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, when Joe Mauer ended the bid with a single to left field with two outs.
“He established right from the first hitter that he was going to get strike one,” Indians manager Terry Francona said.
