CLEVELAND: Trevor Bauer continued the strong run of starting pitching and the Indians completed a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds with a 5-2 win at Progressive Field Sunday.
Bauer (4-1) threw 7u2154 innings, allowed one run on five hits, struck out four and walked none. Indians starters have now thrown six-plus innings in eight consecutive outings and have allowed three or fewer runs in seven in a row. It’s been a major factor in the Indians’ current winning streak, which was extended to six games on Sunday.
“We put ourselves behind the eight-ball in a big way, so it’s nice to see that we’re kind of coming together as a team, putting some wins together and hopefully we’ll get back in the race,” Bauer said.
