The Guardians got to face off with a highly-touted pitching prospect last night in Texas. Jack Leiter was on the mound, and probably wishes he hadn’t been. I don’t know how true this is, but it felt like he only threw about 11 strikes the entire night. Ankielesque.
But it looked like the Guardian offense might put his poor performance to waste, as they were unable to capitalize in the first inning. It is possible though that making him throw 30-some pitches that inning led to their much more satisfying 6-run 2nd.
In that 2nd inning, Jack L retired just 2 batters while also allowing a 2-run double to Bo Naylor and a 3-run homer to Josh Naylor.
