Guardians News and Notes: It's Jackie Robinson Day

Today, the Guardians will join all MLB teams in wearing the number 42 to honor the day Jackie Robinson (who wore 42) broke MLB's color barrier in 1947.

Interestingly enough, Robinson was not just a great player and a US veteran, he was a firm advocate for racial equality who pointed out issues with systemic racism in United States society which continue to impact us 78 years later, thus players will also be wearing shirts saying "Breaking Barriers." The more you know!

The Guardians will play the Orioles tonight at 7:05PM EDT, in a pitching duel between Logan Allen and Charlie Morton.
