Guardians avoid arbitration with four players ahead of today’s deadline

The Cleveland Guardians have begun making moves to get all their seven arbitration players under contract, but unless some other news trickles in over the next few hours, it appears they missed the 1 p.m. deadline to exchange figures for some prominent arbitration-eligible players.

Missing today’s deadline does not necessarily mean that a day in court will happen, however. Both sides can still come to an agreement before a hearing. At least four have been confirmed to receive deals, as of this writing. Monday night Amed Rosario agreed to a $4.95 million deal, and Tuesday morning Cal Quantrill agreed to a $2.
