Well, the opener against the Tigers didn’t go too well last night. Carlos Carrasco (7-5, 4.35) makes the start for the Indians this afternoon against RHP Justin Verlander (AAA: 0-0, 3.24) who is making his season debut today after straining his right triceps during Spring Training. He’s obviously going to be heavily monitored by the Tigers bench, and he is expected to be limited to 95-100 pitches today.
I don’t think the Indians will walk all over Verlander, but they did hit .301 against during 2014 (admittedly a year of regression year for Verlander). If the Tribe is going to avoid a sweep, they need to win today because apparently the universe is unable to handle the Indians and the Cavaliers both winning on the same day, and the Cleveland Cavaliers kind of need to win tomorrow.
