CHICAGO – To play Carlos Santana in left field or not play him, that is the question manager Terry Francona is pondering.
Francona said the safe choice would be to start veteran outfielders Coco Crisp or Brandon Guyer in left field in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night against the Cubs and have Santana come off the bench as a pinch hitter at Wrigley Field where the DH does not exist.
He would avoid the second guess, for sure, because Santana has appeared in only one game in left field in his big league career.
