Francona leaves game with unspecified illness

CLEVELAND -- For the second time this month, Indians manager Terry Francona left his post in the dugout due to illness.

During Monday's game against the Rangers, Francona left at some point within the first few innings, handing the managerial duties to long-time bench coach Brad Mills. The Indians announced Francona was "not feeling well," but the specifics of his condition were not immediately known. The manager exited around 8:30 p.m. ET and was not expected to return to the dugout.

It was a situation similar to the Indians' game against the Dodgers on June 13, when Francona experienced light-headedness, exited after the eighth inning and was taken to a local hospital.
