Former Cleveland Indians reliever Mike Jackson to represent team at MLB Draft

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Former Indians reliever Mike Jackson will represent the club at this month's MLB Draft.

Jackson pitched for the Tribe from 1997-99, as he served as the club's closer for the latter two seasons. On draft night, he'll assist with relaying the information and welcoming the selections.

The Indians relinquished their first-round pick when they signed Edwin Encarnacion over the winter. Their first choice will come at No. 64. They also own picks Nos. 71 and 102.

"We have to take the most talented players," said Brad Grant, the Indians' director of amateur scouting.
