CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig says he reacted and stooped to the level of Cleveland Indians fans who were heckling him Tuesday when he made an obscene gesture toward the stands after hitting a home run.
"It happened suddenly," Puig said through a translator after Los Angeles' 7-5 win. "It's something that came out. There's really nothing I can do at this point."
Puig belted a two-run home run 398 feet to right center off Indians starter Trevor Bauer in the second inning. As he completed his trot around the bases, cameras captured Puig giving a double-middle finger gesture to fans seated in the dugout suites near the LA bench.
