Danny Salazar strikes out 11, but Cleveland Indians fall to Chicago White Sox, 2-1

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- When it comes to Danny Salazar, he's rarely met a Chicago White Sox he couldn't strike out. When it comes to Derek Holland, he's rarely faced an Indians team he couldn't beat.

Those two trends collided Wednesday night at Progressive Field and the status quo held firm. Salazar tied a career high with 11 strikeouts and Holland helped the White Sox beat the Indians, 2-1, with six scoreless innings.

Salazar has registered 75 strikeouts in 72 2/3 in 10 career starts against Chicago. On April 10, 2014, Salazar gave an indication of things to come when he struck out 10 White Sox in 3 2/3 innings.
