It’s been a long road back for Indians pitcher Danny Salazar, but the good news is that he’s making strides towards getting back to the Major League squad.
Over the weekend Salazar threw 1.2 innings in the Arizona Rookie League, striking out five batters in his outing, and his speed topped out at 93 mph according to The Athletic’s Zack Meisel.
Meisel reports that the 29-year-old Salazar will have another outing in Arizona this week and then could join the AA Akron Rubberducks.
Salazar hasn’t appeared in a Major League game since the playoffs back in October of 2017 when he threw 1.
