Danny Salazar can wow a crowd with card tricks, but he isn't fooling hitters: Zack Meisel's musings

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Danny Salazar smacked the deck of cards against the cabinet and the six of diamonds emerged.

That was, indeed, the clubhouse aide's card.

Salazar is a card shark, a wizard with a set of 52, and he occasionally practices his tricks during the afternoon. He had a group of clubhouse employees as an audience on Tuesday afternoon, a few hours before another lackluster performance on the mound.

He wowed his crowd in the afternoon. He irritated his audience at night.

Salazar's ERA increased to 5.66 after he surrendered four solo home runs (and five runs in all) in the Tribe's 6-4 loss to the Rays at Progressive Field.
