Corey Kluber was not particularly effective against the Detroit Tigers Tuesday night, and now we may know why. According to the Cleveland Indians, their ace ended his start after just three innings due to “lower back discomfort.”
Kluber was replaced in the game by Shawn Armstrong, who himself was called up today to replace another injured player, outfielder Austin Jackson.
This isn’t the first time the Klubot has expressed concerns with his back this season. He also had the same issues after an April 9 start against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
