CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland Indians pitching prospect Shawn Morimando was named the International League (Class AAA) Pitcher of the Week for his performance with the Columbus Clippers last week, which included the first shutout of his pro career.
In that game, Morimando limited the Durham Bulls to five hits and three walks. The lefty struck out two over nine innings. Only two Durham baserunners got past first base in the Clippers victory.
Morimando has lost only once in his last seven starts. He's 6-5 with a 4.11 ERA. Morimando is in his seventh season since Cleveland selected him in the 19th round of the 2011 draft.
