Columbus Clippers one win away from Governor’s Cup crown

Veteran catcher Ryan Lavarnway, signed to the Clippers less than two weeks ago on Aug. 30, had one of the best games of his career.

Lavarnway went 2-4 with two home runs, one being a grand slam and the other a two-run shot, driving in six of the Clippers’ seven runs.

Ka’ai Tom went 2-5 while Bradley Zimmer went 2-3 with a hit by pitch. Bobby Bradley also reached base safely twice with a walk and a hit by pitch.

Starting pitcher Logan Allen was sensational, allowing just one run on four hits in 6.
