CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Larry Doby played 10 seasons with the Indians and three seasons with the White Sox. He managed the White Sox for 87 games in 1978.
Before the Indians and White Sox square off on Saturday night, the Indians will unveil a statue of the man who broke the American League color barrier. The statue will join those of Jim Thome and Bob Feller outside of Progressive Field.
Indians owner Paul Dolan, Larry Doby Jr. and Jim "Mudcat" Grant will speak at the ceremony, which begins at 4:45 p.m. The event will air on SportsTime Ohio during a one-hour pregame show.
