Cleveland Indians to call up starting pitcher Mike Clevinger

The Cleveland Indians have announced through Twitter that Mike Clevinger will be promoted to the major leagues to make his MLB debut on Wednesday. Clevinger will officially be added to the team tomorrow when another roster move will need to be made to make room. In other roster moves today, Lonnie Chisenhall was activated from the bereavement list and Cody Anderson was optioned to make room for Chisenhall.

In seven starts with the Triple-A Columbus Clippers this season, Clevinger has recorded 36 strikeouts, 17 walks, 28 hits, and 12 earned runs. This was his first full season in Triple-A, although he made a brief appearance in the Clippers' playoff run last season.
