The Cleveland Indians are doubling down on minor league free agent signings today, grabbing pitcher Felipe Paulino today on a minor-league deal with a non-roster invite to Spring Training just hours after signing outfielder Robbie Grossman to a similar deal.
Cleveland has amassed a pool of minor league and fringe Major League outfielders this offseason, but this is only their fourth pitching acquisition (Kirby Yates, Joseph Colon and Joba Chamberlain being the other three).
Paulino, 32, has spent eight years in the Majors, bouncing around between the Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox, and the Chicago Cubs.
