After the Cleveland Indians signing of Collin Cowgill, they DFA’d reliever Nick Hagadone instead of going to arbitration. Hagadone has been inconsistent as well as injury prone as every season has been cut short. The left took the same deal that the Indians were offering. With several new additions in the bullpen, the Indians should be able to survive the loss of Hagadone.
Mike Napoli passed his physical, and the official announcement is expected sometime this week. Napoli is expected to take over first base, with Carlos Santana getting most of his at-bats in the DH spot.
