The Cleveland Indians have been a streaky team this season. And it seems that Corey Kluber pitches when those streaks on offense are of the non-scoring variety. Kluber was again solid, allowing just two runs over eight innings. But the offense could muster just two hits as the Oakland A’s Sonny Gray went the distance in the 2-0 loss.
Wins and losses don’t define pitchers in the same way that they used to, as sabermetrics have helped to expand a pitcher’s value beyond that. And Kluber has become the poster child for that this season.
