The Columbus Clippers placed Naquin on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion.
One day after the Cleveland Indians traded away David Murphy and promoted Tyler Holt up from Triple-A Columbus, the Clippers were left with another vacant outfield spot when Tyler Naquin left the game in the second inning after crashing into the outfield wall. Naquin was chasing a ball hit by Pittsburgh Pirates minor leaguer Keon Broxton when he turned at the last second and had a nasty impact with the wall, which caused his head to jerk backwards.
