DETROIT – It's clear the Indians want Corey Kluber to start Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Oct. 6.It's unclear if Kluber's strained right quadriceps muscle will allow him to do it.
Pitching coach Mickey Callaway added another point to the discussion Thursday morning.
"He's not going to not make that start," said Callaway. "He'd be like Curt Schilling. He's going to go out there and pitch. It will be fun to watch."
Schilling pitched Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS between Boston and the Yankees after having a loose tendon in his right ankle sutured to his skin before the game.
