Cleveland Indians' Michael Brantley undergoes procedure to break up scar tissue in shoulder

BALTIMORE – Another day, another attempt to get Michael Brantley back on the field so he can help the Indians maintain their hold on first place in the AL Central. Brantley, to date, has played 11 games this season as he recovers from November surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Brantley on Thursday underwent a hydrodissection, a procedure in which a needle was injected into his right shoulder accompanied by ultra sound to break up scar tissue in the front of his shoulder along the biceps tendon. Dr. Jason Genin of the team's medical staff did the outpatient procedure.
