CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Left fielder Michael Brantley will begin his rehab assignment at Class AAA Columbus on Tuesday. Brantley will join teammates Lonnie Chisenhall and Tommy Hunter, who are also rehabbing with the Clippers.
Brantley underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder in November. The Indians originally said Brantley might miss part of April because of the surgery, but he progressed quickly in spring training and for a while it looked as if he'd be ready to open the season on time.
He played a minor league game on March 17 and Cactus League games on March 19 and March 21.
