CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The first time I made this suggestion was August 8, 1998.
It was in a column in the Akron Beacon Journal, so I'm not new to the Chief Wahoo debate. The column was reprinted in my book, THE VIEW FROM PLUTO.
So nearly 20 years ago, I knew the days of Chief Wahoo as we see it now were coming to an end. Since then, I have mentioned the idea of changing Chief Wahoo in passing both in print and other media outlets.
After all these years, I'm weary of the debate.
My simple question is this: Would you feel comfortable wearing a Chief Wahoo cap on an Indian reservation?
