CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bob Feller and Ted Williams sat in a suite at the Marriott in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, and traded tales.
The Hall of Famers exchanged anecdotes about their prolific playing days as they signed hundreds of baseballs for a fundraiser for Feller's museum 20 miles west in tiny Van Meter.
Steve Feller, the oldest of three sons, listened in as the icons conversed. He marveled at the stories.
"I wish I would've recorded that," Steve said.
Anyone could soak up knowledge about pitching, baseball wisdom or life lessons from just a few minutes spent around Feller.
