CLEVELAND, Ohio – We’re closing in on finishing off our Throwback Thursday series of Topps Cleveland Indians cards produced since the early 1970s. Today we look at the 2012 and 2013 cards. It was a big turnaround, with the Indians going 68-94 and 20 games back for a fourth-place finish in ’12 and then 92-70 in ’13, when the Tribe finished in second only a game back. Both years had white-bordered cards and a lot of action shots. (Reminder: The card year is the production year, so 2012 indicates statistics through the 2011 season, for instance.)
The American League troika of Alex Rodriguez, Jim Thome and Jason Giambi was a powerful one.
