The Cleveland Indians continue to take the tiniest of baby steps towards improving their roster, this time by acquiring outfielder Colin Cowgill from the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations. In order to make room for Cowgill (and probably because they did not want to bother paying him), the Indians have also designated Nick Hagadone for assignment, although there is a chance they could re-sign him later on.
Cowgill, 29, is a defense-first outfielder who has significant playing time at all three outfield positions, although he may be better suited in the corner spots. He was credited with six runs saved in 2015 playing right field for the Angels.
