Chicago White Sox talking to Cleveland Indians' Sandy Alomar about being their bench coach

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Chicago White Sox have talked to Sandy Alomar about becoming their bench coach.

Alomar, an Indians icon, just finished his sixth year on the Tribe's coaching staff. He served two tours as the first base coach and one as the bench coach under managers Manny Acta and Terry Francona. Alomar was Francona's bench coach in 2013 and then moved to first base in 2014 when Brad Mills was named bench coach.

Mills was Francona's bench coach with the Boston Red Sox. He was also on his coaching staff when Francona managed the Philadelphia Phillies.
