The Tigers rested Miguel Cabrera and skipped Justin Verlander. And the Indians took advantage.
Carlos Carrasco (8 INN/5 H/2 ER/7 SO/1 BB) sparkled, despite giving up a two-run shot to JD Martinez and Francisco Lindor clubbed his first homer en route to a much-needed win against the Tigers. Yeah, Cabrera got the day off, but it’s doubtful that you’ll hear anybody complain about the Tigers essentially sending out their junior varsity squad after all the ruckus they’ve caused for the Tribe thus far. We’re at the defeated, “take-what-we-can-get” stage when it comes to facing these guys, so let’s be happy.
