TORONTO – First baseman Carlos Santana fell to his knees after making the final out in the game that sent the Indians to the World Series on Wednesday at Rogers Centre.
"I said thank you God for giving me the opportunity to be here and play in the World Series," said Santana.
Closer Cody Allen was on the mound in the ninth inning of Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. He needed three outs to eliminate Toronto, win the AL pennant and put the Indians in the World Series for the first time since 1997.
