DETROIT – Some people thought the Indians were going to trade Trevor Bauer when he lost his job in the starting rotation at the end of spring training and opened the season in the bullpen. The Indians, however, didn't trade any of their starting pitchers during the offseason and saw no reason to change that philosophy in the early stages of 2016.
They're fortunate because after completing a three-game sweep of Detroit on Sunday with a 6-3 victory at Comerica Park, manager Terry Francona said Carlos Carrasco will be placed on the disabled list because of a left hamstring injury that he suffered in the third inning of Sunday's game.
