Browns, Indians and Cavs: ‘Believeland’ chronicles the test of local sports fans’ faith

Andy Billman and I were talking about his new documentary and, well, it was kind of like picking off a scab.

Scabs and scars, in fact. Red Right 88. The Drive. The Fumble. The Shot. The Move. Game 7 in ’97. The Decision.

Sipe. Elway. Byner. Jordan. Modell. Mesa. LeBron.

First-era LeBron, that is. We can hope.

Billman, you see, is the director of Believeland, a film following Cleveland’s decades of sports frustration, which will premiere in the Connor Palace in Playhouse Square at 7 p.m. Thursday as part of the Cleveland International Film Festival.
