OAKLAND -- The Indians made an adjustment to their pitching staff on Sunday morning, making it clear that rookie Shane Bieber will stay on as the club's fifth starter.
Prior to Sunday's game against the A's, Cleveland optioned righty Adam Plutko to Triple-A Columbus and purchased the contract of left-handed reliever Marc Rzepczynski from the same affiliate. The subsequent maneuver to officially add Rzepczynski to the Tribe's 40-man roster has not yet been announced.
The move comes one day after Plutko worked 5 2/3 innings in the Indians' 7-2 loss in Oakland.
