CLEVELAND -- Nick Goody slammed in his glove in celebration after escaping a pair of jams in extra innings for the Indians on Tuesday night. The reliever then tried to give Cleveland's taxed bullpen another frame, but he finally flinched in a tough loss Texas.
Goody surrendered back-to-back home runs in the 12th inning, sending the Indians to an 8-6 loss to the Rangers at Progressive Field. That late setback effectively erased the game-tying grand slam from Michael Brantley that woke up Cleveland's offense with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.
Joey Gallo and Isiah Kiner-Falefa both went deep with one out off Goody, who had used strikeouts to halt Texas rallies in the 10th and 11th.
