CLEVELAND -- Another game, another hit for Michael Brantley.
In the first inning of Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Brantley sent a 2-1 changeup from lefty Lucas Giolito into right field for a one-out single. That extended Brantley's hitting streak to 18 games, which represents the longest active run in the Majors. More important for the Tribe, the hit ignited an early rally.
Following Brantley's single, Jose Ramirez (RBI double), Edwin Encarnacion (single) and Yonder Alonso (RBI single) each connected for a hit off Giolito to give Cleveland a quick 2-0 lead on the White Sox.
