Remember a few years ago, when the Indians took a chance on Aaron Cunningham when they sent pitcher Cory Burns to the San Diego Padres? Cunningham, a former sixth round pick with the Chicago White Sox, was out of options and basically had to make the 2012 roster or risk exposure to waivers. After a “meh” performance in spring training, he still left camp with the major league club, where he proceeded to hit .175/.245/.247 over the course of 72 games. The Indians finally cut ties with Cunningham in late July, and that was the last time he saw major league action.
