AKRON, Ohio -- Binghamton's Matt Oberste was the star of stars in the Eastern League All-Star game before a full house of 8,054 Wednesday at Akron's Canal Park. But the combined effort from four players for the Reading Fightin' Phils was equally impressive.
Oberste, a third baseman for the Mets, finished 4-for-5 with a double, three singles and four RBI as the Eastern Division Stars easily topped the Western Division, 10-2. The Eastern Stars finished the game with 20 hits for their 10 runs.
"I just came out here looking to have fun,'' Oberste, the game MVP said.
