Hoo-boy. Wednesday night was “one of those games” where just not enough things went right for the Tribe to win.
Trevor Bauer had another solid outing and deserved at the very least a no-decision. He went 7 2/3 innings, struck out a dozen — his fourth consecutive start with double-digit Ks — and surrendered only 4 hits. Yet the White Sox strung just enough together to scratch out 3 runs, and that was enough to win.
Bauer was cruising along until the fifth, when he walked Tim Anderson, the lead-off batter. The speedy Anderson stole second and went to third on what was likely Roberto Perez’s worst throw of the year — missing wide of Lindor covering the bag by the width of about two airplane hangars.
