The Cleveland Indians came into today’s matchup against the Oakland Athletics hoping to avoid a two-game winning streak and earn the series win against the A’s. With a favorable pitching matchup on the third game of a ten-game homestand, things seemed like they were in the Tribe’s favor.
Unfortunately for the Indians, things are not always as they seem, and baseball in nothing if not unpredictable. The A’s struck first in the top of the first inning when Mark Canha singled (althought it was lost in the sun by Francisco Lindor) to left field against Indians starter Shane Bieber, and scored on a double to deep right field by Khris Davis.
