CLEVELAND -- There is a story that Indians manager Terry Francona loves to tell about Scott Atchison. On Francona's final day as manager of the Red Sox, he told Atchison, one of his relievers in Boston, that he would pitch for him again at some point.
Francona's prediction came to fruition, with Atchison back in his bullpen in Cleveland for parts of the past two seasons. What they could not have known at the end of the 2011 season in Boston was that Atchison would someday join Francona's Major League staff. On Thursday, the Indians announced that Atchison has been hired to work as a Major League advance coach and staff assistant.
