In the first inning of Tuesday night’s 7-3 loss to the Houston Astros, José Ramírez put together one of the greatest at-bats I’ve ever seen. With two outs, Ramírez fouled off nine pitches in a 12-pitch at-bat, culminating in a solo home run into the Crawford Boxes in left field.
Here is everything Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez threw at Ramírez:

Unfortunately, that would be the highlight of the game for the Cleveland Guardians.
Valdez was a tough assignment for Cleveland’s lineup. The left-handed groundball pitcher had only allowed more than one run in three of his eight starts entering Tuesday night.
