A five-run 5th inning may not be as dramatic as a five-run 9th inning, but that doesn’t make it any less sweet. On a sunny, sultry Memorial Day, the Indians took the first of a three-game series against the visiting Chicago White Sox in a rare instance when the Tribe did not score first but still managed a decisive win.
The White Sox scored in the first on a sacrifice fly by Jose Abreu that scored Yoan Moncada. They racked up two more runs in the 2nd and two in the 4th (solo home runs by Matt Skole and Tim Anderson).
