GOODYEAR, Ariz.: Mike Trout singled and Albert Pujols drove in a run in the Los Angeles Angels’ 6-3 win over the Indians on Wednesday.
Trout singled to load the bases in the first inning against Cody Anderson. Pujols’ slow roller drove in Yunel Escobar, who reached base on a throwing error by Francisco Lindor.
Gregorio Petit, who signed with the Angels as a free agent, hit two home runs off Anderson, who is competing for the Indians’ open spot in the starting rotation.
Jason Kipnis and Mike Napoli hit home runs in the bottom of the inning off Angels starter Nick Tropeano.
