CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Braves team that faces the Cleveland Indians for a three-game interleague series today through Wednesday is a far cry from the glory years Atlanta had in the recent past.
A new book, "When the Braves Ruled the Diamond" by Dan Schlossberg (Sports Publishing, 280 pages) details the 1991-2005 Atlanta seasons. Adam Liberman, director of public and media relations for the Akron Rubberducks, Cleveland's Class AA team, worked as the Braves' publicist for 2000-09. He traveled with the team and grew to know many of the players. Atlanta finished in first place 14 of 15 times from 1991 to 2005, and won a World Series title in 1995.
