Adios, El Pavo: Juan Uribe gave Cleveland Indians laughs and leadership, but not enough offense

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Wherever Juan Uribe was, he probably had a cigar in his mouth, a hat donning his initials resting on his head, some sunglasses on his face and some bright-colored shoes on his feet.

And he was probably beaming from ear to ear.

Jose Ramirez started at third base on Monday night, not Juan Uribe, who was designated for assignment hours earlier to create a roster spot for newcomer Andrew Miller. The Indians bid farewell to the elder entity of the Indians' father-and-son duo.

The man affectionately nicknamed "El Pavo," or "The Turkey" in his native Dominican Republic for the way he walks, sauntered on to his next endeavor after a rough four months at the plate.
