CLEVELAND, Ohio – Hours before any game started Tuesday night in downtown Cleveland, and not surprisingly, fans turned out ready to celebrate.
Premonition? The Indians would go on to beat the Chicago Cubs, 6-0, in the World Series opener.
They came to party, to shoot selfies, to capture video of a night to remember: The Cavs tipping off in The Q, a championship-ring and banner ceremony preceding their first game of the season, and the Indians hosting a World Series game for the first time since 1997.
They brought their signs and wore their jerseys -- young and old, diehards and friends, and a lot of people who weren't around in 1948, the last time the Indians won a World Series.
