1995 World Series Game 4: Tribe gets pushed to the brink - Reliving Cleveland Indians history

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Steve Avery and three Atlanta Braves relievers limited the powerful bats of the Cleveland Indians to two runs on six hits on this date, Oct. 25, in 1995.

The result, a 5-2 Braves victory in Game 4 of the World Series before a packed Jacobs Field in Cleveland, moving Atlanta within one game of winning the series.

Indians manager Mike Hargrove, however, refused to complain.

"I've faced more pleasing prospects," Hargrove. "But there are 26 clubs sitting at home that would like to have the chance to still be playing. We'll show up, and I'm sure we'll play hard.
