Since rejoining the Indians rotation last year, Carrasco has posted a 3.07 ERA, 10.0 K/9, 1.7 BB/9, and 0.64 HR/9 in 196 1/3 innings.
Cleveland signed him to a four-year extension in April, guaranteeing him $21 million through 2018, though the contract could run through 2020 if both club options are exercised.
The Blue Jays were “close to a deal that fell apart near the finish line” for Carrasco, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca, though that deal fell apart when they acquired David Price.
